The Programme is also investigating new tools that aim to accelerate the technology development process. Some 50 tools are currently being examined, in the areas of idea generation, decision making, patent landscaping and technology road mapping.

A series of workshops is planned in which tools that stimulate and capture the generation of new ideas will be assessed. Small groups with expertise in particular clinical fields, technologies and markets will be encouraged to think of new innovative ways to solve unmet clinical needs.
