A multidisciplinary NHS and academic team led by music therapist Elaine Streeter from the University of York will create a specialist system for music therapy data analysis. A systematic method of acquiring objective evidence of the efficacy of music therapy for patients with neuro-disability will be developed. Cutting edge technology will be combined with the latest music information retrieval systems to enable music therapists to quantatively analyse and track treatments by producing detailed feedback for improving the success rate of music therapy techniques.
