The measurement of body water in renal failure and other pathologies cannot be quickly and accurately obtained in the clinic. Such reliable clinical information would assist patient management in cases of renal issues and rheumatological diseases. Dr Martin Robinson of the University of York and Dr John Truscott and Dr Graham Woodrow of Leeds University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust will develop a novel resonant methodology and equipment for accessing and measuring localised water in a limb. Such a miniaturised water measurement instrument for patients will enable fast, accurate and comfortable measurements to be obtained. |
