In the UK, asthma is the most common long term medical condition, affecting 5.2 million people and accounting for NHS costs of £996M per annum. Treatment compliance among children is hampered due to one of the main drugs requiring an administration time of 15 minutes. This project aims to reduce the drug treatment time by improving the solubility of the drug by using AGT Science Ltd novel Nanagel technology. Expertise from the University of Bradford's Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation will help to determine if the increased solubility of the drug will correlate with improved bioavailability and treatment efficacy. |
