Pharmaceutical counterfeiting is a problem in both the developing and the developed world and pharmaceutical companies are constantly trying to identify novel methods to secure their products. This project aims to validate a series of novel inks for use in this interesting security area. The project is highly multidisciplinary and involves: a Yorkshire based SME Pharma Ink Ltd; The Department of Colour Science at the University of Leeds; The Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation at the University of Bradford and also the printing and packaging divisions of a major pharmaceutical company.
