Augmentative alternative communication devices used by people with severe communication difficulties require a lot of support to enable the users to get the maximum benefit from the systems. The project aims to reduce the amount of time required to configure the systems by enabling the system to learn and remember previous input. The project integrates the expertise in evolutionary algorithms from the University of York with existing software produced by Madhouse Software Productions Ltd to create an improved adaptive communication tool.
