Gill Risby, University of Leeds The project will design and produce an online series of interactive workbooks, focussing on intravenous additives, total Parenteral Nutrition, chemotherapy and Processing environments. These will be a flexible resource, which may be delivered via the web, however may also be accessible froma CDRom. Target learners: The training is designed to support those individuals preparing medicines at all levels, primarily in specialised pharmacy production environments. However many of the skills are equally of use in other clinical areas, such as wards, A&E, ITUs and theatres. The learning is aimed at adult learners - both professional and technical staff, who are new to this area of practice. Although research evidence indicates that the incidence of errors in prescribing, preparing and administering injectables is higher that for other forms of medicines, there is little in the way of accessible training for staff who are involved in these specialist areas of practice. |
