Learning about the process of innovation – the theory and its adoption in reality – was one of the key ambitions of the White Rose Health Innovation Partnership. For the first time the Partnership is making some of its key findings freely available.

Whether you’re a small medical technology company finding it difficult to navigate the NHS procurement landscape, or if you have an interest in different types of innovation strategy, the knowledge generated through the Partnership may prove invaluable. More reports will be available in due course, but in the meantime, take a look at:

The NHS in England was first recognised as a slow and late adopter of innovative products by the Wanless Report published in 2002, yet in 2009 industry and NHS employees recognise that not enough is done to promote the uptake of innovative products by the NHS. This report provides a picture of the current procurement landscape, policies and internal processes and makes conclusions about the effects these are having on the rate of innovation adoption in the NHS. Effectively, ARI is a set of advanced tools based around what is often described as Open Innovation. Whilst the methodology still requires some development in order to make it applicable to health innovation projects, this report focuses on providing an explanation of ARI, how it’s developed and been applied and its application to health innovation projects.
