Arthur and Co: Stories about Living with Arthritis |
Please join us on July 7th (3pm to 4.30) to celebrate the launch of Arthur and Co a series of digital stories that show the individual journeys and experiences of story tellers who have all been affected by arthritis.
The stories have been made as part of a long standing collaboration between the northern region of Arthritis Care and the Faculty of Medicine and Health. This collaboration has played an important part in the development of new ways of involving local people who bring patient experience and knowledge into health professional learning, research and practice development. Digital stories are a way of recording people’s own personal stories in short and powerful video clips. Pilgrim Projects are leaders in the field of digital story telling in healthcare and have facilitated the making of Arthur and Co in partnership with the Medical Education Unit. The stories have been made as part of a project supported by the White Rose Health Innovation Partnership looking at how to develop more effective patient and public involvement in the design and development of new technology. The launch will provide an opportunity to find out more about the uses and application of digital story telling in healthcare improvement and as reflective tools in healthcare education. We will also celebrate the achievements of the story tellers and share the first pubic viewing of the stories. The launch is to be held in the Charles Thackrah Building, 101 Clarendon Road, Leeds LS2 9LJ. Start time 3pm and close 4.30pm.
