A biopolymer suture developed from materials produced naturally in the human body may prove to be stronger and more effective than those used currently. Tepha Inc of Massachusetts has made them using a method originally developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Initially they will be used on abdominal closures and to stitch tendons and ligaments.
