New process locks in moisture in contact lens Print E-mail

Vistakon, a division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, has managed to embed a water-holding ingredient similar to natural tears into entafilcon A: this is the material of which one-day contact lenses are made. This locking-in of moisture should ease the most common complaint of contact lenses, dryness and discomfort at the end of the day. It also eliminates the need for cleaning, disinfecting solutions and storage, and may provide some relief from allergies.
